BEETROOT White Blankoma

Reputedly better tasting than red beet use the leaf a secondary vegetable.

White roots means non staining as with the red beetroot without losing the beetroot flavour.

The tops can be cooked or added to salads. Best harvested when 5-8 (2-3”) cm in diameter for optimum flavour.

Sow:12mm deep
For best results grow in trays of a quality seed raising mix transplant when 6cm high. Alternatively sow direct and thin to strongest plant.

Germination:10-14 days
Maturity: 8-10 weeks

Adaptable to most good garden soils, prefers an open sunny position. Avoid deformed beets by planting them in loose soil free from stones or rocks.
